What To Do?
This stuff smells amazing! I love love love caramelized onions. In fact, I keep a container in the fridge to toss into omelets, soups, vegetables or even in a cold salad! So it was a no brainer when I saw this on the clearance shelf at my favorite grocery store.
Caramelized Onion Jam...what!? Yes please. I am making burgers this week specifically so I can slather this all over that meat!

What To Do?
When I was little we had a fig bush in our front yard. We ate so much fresh fig I stopped eating it for a loooong time. The fig was so sweet and delicious! Well while perusing my favorite sites for recipe ideas I came across one that had a homemade fig jam. Sounds fancy right?
Well while shopping at my local

What To Do?
Adobo is Spanish for sauce, seasoning, or marinade used in Latin American and Southwest U.S.-style cooking. The noun form describes a marinade or seasoning mix. Recipes vary widely by region: Puerto Rican adobo, a rub used principally on meats, differs greatly from the Mexican variety. Meat marinated or seasoned with an adobo is referred to having been adobada or adobado.
Adobo relates to marinated dishes such as chipotles en adobo or Chipotles in adobo sauce is a condiment in which chipotles (smoked jalapeƱo peppers) are stewed in a sauce with tomatoes, garlic, vinegar, salt, and spices. The spices vary, but generally include several types of peppers (in addition to the Chipotle and most likely those on hand), ground cumin and dried oregano. Some recipes include orange juice and lemon or lime juices. They often include a pinch of brown sugar just to offset any bitter taste.
Adobo is prepared in regions of Latin America and Spain. Pork, spices, and especially red pepper are used. Dishes with the borrowed name, but with different cultural roots, are prepared in regions of Asia Pacific.

What To Do?
Yet another Big Lots find. I have never cooked with a fresh artichoke. It looks intimidating. However, marinated chokes have found their way in many of my salads (I LOVE a great salad!). Anywho, these artichokes will soon be part of a fish dish!

What To Do?
Big Lots is one of my favorite places to shop. You truly never know what you are going to find. I found this box of broth for fifty cents! I have a thai basil chicken recipe that I think this would be perfect for. However, like gumbo, I only make it a couple of times a year because it is ingredient heavy, well more spice heavy and a tad labor intensive. And the richness (coconut milk)!!! It is worth every minute in the kitchen. I am going to try using it this weekend in case I like it so I can go scoop up a couple more for the low low price of fifty freaking cents!!
